Ineffable
Is Barack Obama's sworn allegiance to the Black Value System, in which the congregation of Trinity United Church of Christ, his church (his office is filled with mementos from his 35 years at Trinity), firmly believe and openly and freely espouse, having an adverse effect on his patriotism? I believe it is. For the last few weeks Obama wants to be seen as separate and different - and, if you go the Obama way, you'll be seen as separate and different, too!
Not good.
A reminder of what Obama has sworn to live and uphold in every aspect of his life.
Mr Erik Rush, a columnist, viewed the website of Senator Barack Obama's church, Trinity United Church of Christ, and viewed the Black Value System to which the church subscribes - to which ALL members must affix their signature in allegiance.
After Mr Rush's article appeared (21 Feb 07), Trinity United Church of Christ quickly changed the "About" page of their website (from this on 15 Mar 07 to this on 29 Mar 07) to NOT include the sworn dedication to upholding the Black Value System, hiding that strong and important cornerstone of the church, the pastor, and the members from the public.
Why? Is Trinity United Church of Christ ashamed of what they believe? Do they intend to keep their firm and practiced belief in The Black Value System a secret from the public and future members? Is that why The Black Value System was removed from their website? Because it is a radical, separatist, bigoted, exclusionary, and a wholly racist belief system?
08 Oct 07 | FoxNews: As Obama Talks Religion, Questions Surround His Controversial Pastor
Barack Obama has put his religion back into the headlines, trumpeting the power and salvation of faith and asking a church audience in South Carolina to help him become “an instrument of God” and join him in creating “a Kingdom right here on Earth."

“If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,” Mr. Wright said with a shrug. “I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.” - Rev Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr, Pastor, Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago IL
Interesting to know Barack Obama will continue to receive regular personal and spiritual instruction and counseling from Pastor Wright during his campaign to be President, but, admits he will publicly distance himself from the man he admires, reveres, and is entranced by; in effect, deliberately hiding his relationship with the controversial and radical Pastor Wright from the public. Would "an instrument of God” committed to creating “a Kingdom right here on Earth" deny his brother? Obama will... to further his personal and political agenda. Should he win the Presidential race, how would Obama treat an ally of America? How would Obama treat an enemy of America? If he is willing to treat a cherished personal friend of at least thirty-five years in this abysmal way, publicly disavowing their relationship while maintaining it in secret, it boggles the imagination to wonder about the treatment of which he is capable of those that are not his personal friends (or friends of America).
Why? This is completely contrary to Obama's beliefs. Is Obama ashamed of his on-going relationship with a known racist radical? Evidently.
Given Obama's recent controversial words regarding the wearing of an American flag lapel pin:
"You don't have the American flag pin on. Is that a fashion statement? Those have been on politicians since Sept. 12, 2001."
"You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin. Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we're talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest. Instead, I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism.
I'm less concerned with what you're wearing on your lapel than what's in your heart. You show your patriotism by how you treat your fellow Americans, especially those who serve. And you show your patriotism by being true to your values and ideals. And that's what we have to lead with, our values and ideals."
Obama's utter lack of respect during the playing of the National Anthem, it reminds me of the silent "protest" by Tommie Smith and John Carlos at the 1968 Summer Olympics held in Mexico City, Mexico.
After receiving their medals from the Marquis of Exeter, the president of the International Amateur Athletic Federation, who was an Olympic 400-meter hurdles champion in 1928, Smith and Carlos raised their gloved hands with fists clenched and kept their heads deeply bowed during the playing of the national anthem and raising of the United States flag in their honor.
That Mr Wright, Obama's pastor, who
preaches Afrocentric theology, dabbles in radical politics,
delivers music-and-profanity-spiked sermons which are a fused analysis of the Bible and outrage at what Pastor Wright sees as the racism of everything from daily life in Chicago to American foreign policy,
asserts widespread white racism,
will maintain a close and personal relationship Obama, although Pastor Wright and Obama have mutually agreed to keep their relationship hidden from the public,
has participated in activities which have included, in 1984, travel to Cuba to teach Christians about the value of nonviolent protest and to Libya to visit Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, along with the Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan,
it stands to reason, after being Pastor Wright's student for thirty-five years, Obama is following closely in his teacher's radical activist footsteps and is beginning his own "stand" on the issues.
