Fox & Friends | Barack Obama

This morning my mouth fell open as I listened to this exchange between Fox & Friends' Brian Kilmeade and Presidential hopeful, Senator Barack Obama (D-IL). Last night, Senator Barack Obama lost to Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) in New Hampshire's Presidential Primary.

Brian Kilmeade: Senator, I know you can't read every newspaper, but the editorial on The Washington Post yesterday said that it's time for the Democrats to change their tune when it comes to Iraq. Violence is down, civil war is not going to happen. Who's going to be the first Democrat to say "the surge is working", uh, let's acknowledge it?

Barack Obama: Well, what I have already said is, and I said this a long time ago, is that if you send 30,000 of America's finest troops into, uh, Baghdad, that you would see a reduction in violence, and I'm happy about that. And I congratulate our soldiers and our commanders on the ground for that. Uh, what I have also said is that even as we see a reduction in the violence, if we do not see some sort of political accommodation, uh, among the, the, warring factions in Iraq, we don't have long-term stability.

Brian Kilmeade: Right.

Barack Obama: And, I think the best way for us to do that is to send a signal to them that we're not going to be there forever.

Brian Kilmeade: Right.

Barack Obama: That's the difference that I've had consistently with the Administration.

Brian Kilmeade: Understood. And I also saw you quoted saying, let's, uh, rid Afghanistan of al-Qaeda, and, and, if that is your policy, should we also rid Iraq of al-Qaeda?

Barack Obama: Well, right now, we think that al-Qaeda in Iraq is a far lesser threat than al-Qaeda in Afghanistan where we know bin Laden and his troops, uh, are still hiding. Uh, and, uh, uh, along the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. That is the most immediate threat that we face in this country. It's a threat that we've lost focus on, uh, and it's one that I want to focus on when I'm President of the United States.

Wow. al-Qaeda in Iraq is a far lesser threat than al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. How naïve IS this man?

Raw Data: Hillary Clinton’s Victory Remarks in New Hampshire

HILLARY CLINTON: Thank you. Thank you.

I come tonight with a very, very full heart.

And I want especially to thank New Hampshire. Over the last week, I listened to you and, in the process, I found my own voice.

Clinton undertook this whole process of running for the Office of President and she didn't know her voice? This is, without a doubt, the most contrived and ridiculous statement Clinton made this evening. Playing to the gullible and easily-swayed successfully. Education in America certainly needs to move away from the Liberal group-think apparatus. We're turning out idiots.

I felt like we all spoke from our hearts, and I am so gratified that you responded. Now, together, let’s give America the kind of comeback that New Hampshire has just given me.

For all the ups and downs of this campaign, you helped remind everyone that politics isn’t a game. This campaign is about people, about making a difference in your lives, about making sure that everyone in this country has the opportunity to live up to his or her God-given potential. That has been the work of my life.

We are facing a moment of so many big challenges.

The largest of which is the war against terrorism.

We know we face challenges here at home, around the world, so many challenges for the people whose lives I’ve been privileged to be part of.

I’ve met families in this state and all over our country who’ve lost their homes to foreclosures, men and women who work day and night but can’t pay the bills and hope they don’t get sick because they can’t afford health insurance, young people who can’t afford to go to college to pursue their dreams.

With unemployment statistics at 4 - 5% for the last four years, how is it people are losing their homes? Could it be they got in over their heads? Into something they knew they couldn't afford? People who work day and night and can't pay the bills are living beyond their means. Health insurance? Illegals can have major surgeries and extended cancer treatments without paying a dime, so can legal Americans. People that can't afford college don't know how to use the scholarship programs or have parents that were unwise (in living beyond their means) by not saving for their children's education. For Clinton, it's all about the government giving people handouts... So many don't want to earn what they get, they feel they are entitled, and Clinton agrees with them.

Too many have been invisible for too long. Well, you are not invisible to me.

People are only invisible because they lack the self-esteem to do for themselves. They lack the initiative to investigate ways to solve their problems, for themselves, through programs already available via the government and instead look to the government to hold their hand and offer them even more. Of course, higher taxes for the poor and middle class is Clinton's plan to satisfy the entitlement needs of the few. It's as though Clinton's personal philosophy is "when they're down, keep 'em down, and they'll do whatever you want as long as you continue to "feed" them."

The oil companies, the drug companies, the health insurance companies, the predatory student loan companies have had seven years of a president who stands up for them. It’s time we had a president who stands up for all of you.

President Bush stood up for all of us on the most important matter of all. He is actively engaged in prosecuting a war against the Islamo-fascists that have promised to destroy America and everyone within her borders.

I intend to be that president, to be a president who puts you first, your lives, your families, your children, your futures. I believe deeply in America, in our can-do spirit, in our ability to meet any challenge and solve any problem. I believe in what we can do together.

Believing deeply in America, in her can-do spirit, in her ability to meet any challenge, and in her ability to solve problems would include the wars against Islamo-fascism. This is something Clinton does not believe we can do... win the war against terrorism.

In the future, we will build together. There will be no more invisible Americans. So we’re going to take what we’ve learned here in New Hampshire and we’re going to rally on and make our case. We are in it for the long run.

The long run would include the war against terrorism, the very real threat against America and her people, not more social programs for those unwilling to do what's necessary to improve their lives for themselves.

And that is because we are in it for the American people.

Clinton is in it for the American people that believe they are entitled to handouts from the government. The ones that will idly sit back while so many are in harm's way to secure and maintain their freedoms. The ones that will drive taxes higher to pay for their entitlement and privilege.

This victory will serve notice that people across our country know what’s really at stake, that we will all be called upon to deliver on the promise of America. We’ll be called upon to deliver on the promise that the middle class will grow and prosper again, to deliver on the promise that government will be of the people, by the people and for the people, not just the privileged few.

What's at stake is the American way of life; the very real and constant threat of terrorism lapping at our shores every day.

To deliver on the promise that every generation will have their shot at the American dream, to deliver on the promise that we’ll have the will and the wisdom to end the war in Iraq the right way.

Every generation since the 1960s have had their shot at the American dream. Whether they take the opportunities and work them for themselves is something wholly different. Ending the war in Iraq will rob us all of the American dream, the threat will move even closer and will be emboldened because of Clinton emotionally ending the war via troop withdrawals.

To deliver on the promise to take care of our brave veterans and restore America’s standing, respect and credibility around the world.

Brave veterans are being taken care of, it could be better, but they are being rehabilitated and returned to jobs. America's standing in the world is fine. This is still the number one destination for immigration and the number one benefactor to the rest of the world monetarily.

We know that for the promise of America to be real, we are called upon to deliver on that promise. And if you join in this call to greatness, we will together answer. So, tomorrow, we’re going to get up, roll up our sleeves and keep going.

What the hell is this mumbo jumbo? Who is "we"? Clinton and Soros? The promise of America is very real and is lived out every day by millions of people willing to get off their asses and do what is necessary to realize their dreams.

I invite you to come join us at hillaryclinton.com. We’re going to tap into all of the spirit, the talent and just the plain grit of this great nation again.

The grit of America has been tapped into and is tapped into every day. Here, in the successful small businesses that open every day, and overseas where brave men and women sacrifice so people can continue to open those small businesses.

We are determined to tackle our toughest problems and stand up for those who most need a champion, because we are determined to make America work again for all of our people. We came back tonight because you spoke loudly and clearly.

Our toughest problem is Islamo-fascist terrorism. The American people need a champion that understands THAT. America is working just fine for the vast majority of hard-working people. Clinton is "back" because people know she won't win in the end. It was a strategic vote in New Hampshire, like on CBS's "Survivor". Republicans (and the majority of Americans) want to go up against the person with whom they disagree and dislike the most when it gets down to the final vote.

You want this campaign to be about you, because there is so much at stake for our country. I have so many people to thank. I want to thank the two most important people in my life, Bill and Chelsea.

No, Clinton wants the campaign to be about Clinton herself and the Clinton dynasty. She doesn't even understand what's truly at stake or she wouldn't be treating the war against terrorism as a mere annoyance and a national embarrassment.

I want to thank them for their incredible commitment, their passion and their heart. I want to thank my entire family, particularly my mother, who is watching tonight.

I want to thank the extraordinary team here in New Hampshire that never faltered one minute.

And that team had a great staff. It had volunteers and supporters from across the state and this country.

Especially George Soros who paid for it all.

I want to thank the young people across New Hampshire who came out.

They asked the hard questions, and they voted their hearts and their minds, and I really appreciate it.

And finally, I want to say how much I respect our Democratic candidates. Senators Dodd and Biden, who were in the race earlier, have given great service to our country.

Governor Richardson, Congressman Kucinich, Senator Edwards and Senator Obama — they all … they all have put themselves on the line day and night on behalf of this country we love so much. This campaign will transform America, because we will take on the challenges. We will seize the opportunities. Every single day I am not going out there on my own. I’m going out there accompanied by millions and millions of people who believe as I do that this country is worth fighting for.

The Clinton campaign will indeed transform America. Clinton will transform America into a weak and sniveling Euro- and Chinese-driven whore. The challenge Clinton completely avoided was winning the war against terrorism. If Clinton sincerely believed America is worth fighting for, she would continue, full strength, in the war against terrorism instead of promising to withdraw troops from Iraq on her first day in office. Her promise to withdraw troops from that war proves she does not believe this country is worth fighting for - she's surrendering to the terrorists.

Thank you, and God bless you.

God bless you, Hillary. Please. With some form of rational reason.
