"Democratic Women for Change"
Watched their three representatives on Morning Joe this morning; Barbara Boxer, a Senator from Michigan, and one other woman. I found the list they're touting as something "new" to be mostly a rehash of the 1970s women's movement, a few of the items already law (but the ill-educated (read that as Liberally-educated) masses are completely unaware of that fact and will believe these Democratic women have discovered air).
The most disturbing part of the segment was the end. The Senator from Michigan told Mika, as Joe Scarborough who was denied any opportunity to say a word sat beside her, his voice continually spoken over by the female guests, interrupted, or ignored, something along the lines of,
"See, Mika? We did great! We didn't let him get a word in edgewise!"
All the women cackled like the three witches (aka the weird sisters, how fitting) straight out of MacBeth. They were gleeful, silently applauding themselves for silencing the Republican on the panel. They congratulated themselves at not allowing Joe to have his voice heard as that was the goal and is always the goal - to silence those that oppose them politically.
We can hope, if you'll pardon the Obama reference, that these three weird sisters, who, in Shakespearean times suggested the presence of rebellion and high treason in the play, will conjure up the same fate for Obama as the Shakespearean witches did for MacBeth; telling him he will be the most powerful king and strongly suggesting him to overly ambitious power plays. With the witches leading the way, MacBeth following their advice, he is ultimately destroyed.
Irony? Parallels? Maybe.
