Various and Sundry Thoughts on This Evening
Out of the park, over the fence, and every other metaphor you can muster. Governor Palin received so many sustained periods of rousing and spontaneous applause the Obama campaign's "collective" jaws must be swinging unhinged!
We are witnesses to history in the making!
Governor Palin shone tonight in the most brilliant and singularly accomplished light.
Governor Palin explained her positions on oil, taxes, the economy, jobs, lobbyists, special interest groups, corruption, pork barrel spending, the power of the veto and how she will use it, big government, double-talking politicians, and her promise to be an advocate for those with special needs.
Governor Palin, with an exacting rapier wit, a clever and authoritative tone, and a brilliant smile decimated Obama for falsely presenting himself to the American people as something he most certainly is not. Qualified.
Obama's twenty-six-year-old speech writer must be shaking in his boots, Governor Palin's ease in her public speaking was utterly disarming.
The technical malfunction with the teleprompter didn't even phase Governor Palin. Conversely, should Obama's teleprompter go out, we'd be subjected to long strings of ummmmmmmmmmmmm, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, well, ummmmmmmmmmmmmm, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. *chuckle* That's why Obama went back on his promise to do regular townhall-style debates with John McCain. As an extemporaneous speaker, Obama simply does not have what it takes. This will be clearly evident during the debates.
Liberals, picking up on the delusional spin from the only-for-Obama media, parroting what those seething, hate-filled talking heads push as journalism, seem to feel Governor Palin (and Mayor Giuliani) dismissed community organizers as "less than". Not true. The liberal media offered even more fear and desperation when, immediately after Governor Palin's well-delivered and well-received speech, said Republicans had made a concerted effort to paint Governor Plain a "victim" of the media, and, because of her speech tonight, ruffling Obama's egoistic feathers, she will now become the target of the media.
No Republican ever offered Governor Palin as a "victim" to the hate- and fear-filled smear tactics of lies and deception the media has deliberately perpetrated upon her in the last few days. She was the target of the media the moment Senator McCain announced her as his choice for vice president. Don't fool yourselves or fall for the liberal media's double-speak. Even one of Obama's largest monetary supporters, the owner of US Weekly and Rolling Stone, used the cover of US Weekly to publish falsehoods and baseless speculation about Governor Palin, the Governor holding her infant son on the cover. This was published and released after Obama said families are off limits. Where's the respect for Obama? *shrug* Is it non-existent? Is that why Obama's good, close, personal friend, this media publisher, ignored Obama and decided to go ahead with his character assassination? After Obama said "off limits"... hmmm, could Obama have given a nod and a wink to the publishing of that magazine? Sure looks that way. The fear on the Democratic side of the aisle is palpable, especially after Governor Palin's incredible speech this evening.
Obama has become accustomed to being the center of attention. It seems Obama is none too pleased with Governor Palin's long and hard-won instant success and overwhelming popularity and now her justifiably receiving the spotlight that once shone only on him.
The contrast is being drawn by Senator McCain, Governor Palin, Mayor Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Senator Lieberman, and a whole host of others that Obama says his service as a community organizer is enough experience to hand the White House to him. Obama says being a community organizer has prepared him to sit in the most powerful seat on Earth. Obama says being a community organizer qualifies him to be Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful military on Earth. Obama says being a community organizer is all the experience that is necessary to qualify him to be President. Obama is being criticized, not the position of community organizer.
Senator McCain and Governor Palin are pointing out that Obama's experience as a community organizer has prepared him for a different role in community or government service, just not the Oval Office. Knocking on people's front doors to tell them about a meeting down the street in Mary's living room about trash pick-ups moving to Thursday's is not presidential experience. Obama believes it is.
Community organizers, of course, are necessary and pivotal people, within their communities, but that role, obviously, does not come with the responsibilities that would lead to a seamless transition to a presidential nomination.
Obama's tenure in the Illinois State Senate recorded "present" votes, not "yea" or "nay", demonstrating his inability to choose a side of an issue; also demonstrating his curious need to avoid responsibility and possible ridicule. His time in the US Senate is precisely 143 days. That's it. After 143 days as a US Senator, Obama believes he is ready to lead, protect, and defend our Nation. His thoughts on foreign policy, such as speaking to our enemies without preconditions, demonstrate Obama as a rank and naive amateur in the real world of politics and governance.
Governor Palin drew the sharp, distinguishing, and unmistakable contrasts between the bottom (I love how Governor Palin refers to her "servant's heart") of the Republican ticket and the top of the Democratic ticket. Governor Palin's experience far outweighs Obama's. No question.
2012 will likely see Vice President Palin and Senator Clinton in a head-to-head for the presidency. Now that is history!
I am astounded at the immediate and abject fear displayed by the left wing. If they're this fearful the McCain/Palin ticket will be the winner, Lieberman, et al, were correct in pointing out these Democrats know precisely who John McCain is and now know precisely who Governor Palin is. The Democrats see all their pet projects and pocket-stuffing deals over and done with, perhaps even with justified investigations into their possibly illegal dealings with the special interest groups they vote with, usually turning their back on the American people in favor of personal and political gain.
McCain/Palin 08!
And a heads up...
Obama will be on The O'Reilly Factor tomorrow evening, deliberately scheduling his appearance on FNC to coincide with John McCain's speech.
O'Reilly, a few weeks ago, had shown a clip of Michelle Obama being emphatic about how she and Obama are people of their word, that they keep their promises, they mean what they say.
Okay.
Well, back in the primaries, O'Reilly was able to have a momentary face-to-face with Obama as he was leaving an event. At that very brief meeting, O'Reilly asked Obama to appear on his show, Obama agreed and said, "Right after the primaries."
O'Reilly showed this clip, too, and was silent, adding a "what gives?" shrug.
Obama has shown himself in a bad light and now he has to keep his word. Smarmy of him to choose Senator McCain's "night", but, when your feet are held to the fire to be responsible for what you say, you've at least sometimes, gotta walk the walk, even if you haven't a clue as to how to accomplish that stride, inserting yourself into someone else's party. Tactless and very low class.
I have to say that of O'Reilly, too, as he agreed to the date. O'Reilly's ego rivals Obama's.
It should prove to be an interesting back and forth, O'Reilly completely soft on Obama, his effusiveness will probably lead to many having instantaneous bouts of cramping nausea, but, Obama has acquiesced and surrendered to O'Reilly and FNC, Michelle Obama unwittingly helping to move things along to the Senator's dismay.
Of course, the extreme left that supplies Obama with his limitless cash and John Edwards, the leader of the "avoid Fox News Gang", are none too pleased with his scheduled appearance on FNC and have probably been pumping his fax machine with lots of things to say (or avoid saying).
O'Reilly's interview with Obama will be in two parts. Tomorrow night and next week some time.
All those that ridicule FNC and have never even watched a single program all the way through, should make a special effort to watch.
