Mayor: New Orleans 'Piled It On' for $77 Billion Lawsuit
Ray Nagin (calling him "Mayor" is so wrong, bestowing respect on one most undeserving - "Buffoon" is much more appropriate) made it very clear to everyone, right after Katrina, he wanted New Orleans to return to its glory as a "chocolate" city (and the crowd goes wild!).
Now he's taking the government down the primrose path with a bunch of lies and inflated numbers. And he admits it!
Who will be launching and heading up the federal investigation into the misdeeds and perjury of Ray Nagin?
All this time has passed. The Gulf areas of Mississippi and Alabama, equally ravaged by Katrina, have rebuilt and are well on their way back to prosperity, tourism, and life as usual. What the hell is the problem with New Orleans? Why are the citizens of that city not pitching in and helping? Why are they continuing to complain about what they're not getting for free from the government? What? Do they need more ATM cards stuffed into their fraudulent pockets? As a whole, this city did not "represent" very well on the national or international stage. The complete lack of initiative from the citizens of New Orleans was, really, not that surprising.
Isn't Ray Nagin supposed to be their leader? Why isn't he out drumming the drum and calling the people to action for their own city? Apathy?
Nagin, hiding for a week while Katrina destroyed the city of New Orleans wasn't a good sign of things to come, either.
It was amazing the crime rates in cities where the displaced people New Orleans were sent (Texas, for the most part) shot through the roof upon their arrival and remain high while the displaced criminals continue their activities in a new city.
And now we find out Nagin, upon the advice of his attorneys (yeah, right), padded the forms with incidentals which were not even required for rebuilding New Orleans. He lied. Bald-faced lied. If it's his signature on the forms, that's at least one count of perjury.
